Forward Fuselage - Side Skins

11NOV2023

Now that the seat bases are finally in, I moved on to the side skins.

I noticed some slight interference between the cabin sides and the side skins.  The vertical portion of cabin side does match the curve of the side skin, so I bent in the bottom corner on the cabin side just a little bit.  This allowed the skin to wrap around a little more.

The horizontal portion of the cabin side seemed a bit too long and was hitting in the radius of the side skin and was causing the skin to not be able to wrap around the bottom and sit flat against the bottom.  I filed the cabin side down until the flange wasn't in the radius any more; the side skin sits a lot more flat against the bottom now.

Then I drilled the two outer rows of holes in the floor to final size and clecoed in the longerons.

Side skin not sitting flat against bottom due to cabin side hitting the bend in the side skin

Filed cabin side and now side skin sits more flat against the bottom
