Last week at the end of reassembling, I noticed that some of the holes in the skin and spare weren't quite lining up - the picture below doesn't really do it justice. So today I took all the clecos out and started clecoing every hole from one end to the other down the spar. The holes started to line up better, but then I had some interference with the skin and tie down slot. The interference was causing the skin to bulge there so I filed it open a bit more. After fixing the tie down slot and reclecoing, things were lining up better. It is very interesting how clecoing in a different order can make things fit better/worse, lol.
After that I moved on to the strut l-angle and doubler. When I originally fitted the l-angle, I just had the strut fitting loosely installed. I guess there was enough play that the l-angle had no issues fitting between the skin and strut fitting. After I torqued down the strut fitting, the l-angle wouldn't fit anymore. I filed out a small notch in the l-angle and was able to get it in place with the holes lined up again. Then I matched drilled the holes for the doubler to the l-angle.
Finished the day with priming the root nose skin because I missed it last weekend.
